Dr. Corneil joined the University of Western in October 2003, jointly appointed in the Departments of Physiology & Pharmacology, and Psychology. He became a CIHR New Investigator in 2005, and garnered a Career Development Award from the HFSP in 2005. He was promoted to Associate Professor with tenure in 2009, became a Scientist at the Robarts Research Institute in 2011, and was promoted to Professor in 2016. He did a sabbatical in Nijmegen, the Netherlands from July 2011-June 2012. He served as the Director of the Neuroscience Graduate Program from July 2018 to June 2024.
